Fake Deitch ??
Someone tell me, what is this about? What artist/gallery/exhibition/street fair/or art-intervention does the above image belong to? I came across it in the current SFAQ (San Francisco Arts Quarterly Issue 7), toward the back of the newspaper amongst the advertisements for gallery shows. Both the familiar Deitch logo and Angelina's tired eyes (presumably not her own), caught my attention. Wow, how clever--Jeffrey opened a new gallery in San Fran?? Wait, the name is misspelled. Wait, Deitch hasn't opened another gallery in San Fran. Wait, so then this logo is being ripped off. What is this place? I'm googling--first off, the website on the far left (DietchSF.com) doesn't work. Then the address in the add (445 O'Farrell Street, SF, CA) is the address for the Winton Hotel in San Francisco (no gallery there). I googled the heck out of this -- "art in the streets Dec 8", "Dietch projects", "Dietch SF", you name it, I tried it. To no avail.
Is this Fake Deitch at work?!??
