Adding to the stereotype?

Artinfo has started presenting a feature that I find rather obnoxious. Every month or so, an artist is chosen to present a list of their "can't live withouts". Frankly, I feel alienated. And I'm left wondering if every other artist and artworld worker is too.
This month's feature focuses on the highly successful Mickalene Thomas. She lists her favorite book, a baby onesie (her partner's expecting), and her favorite smoked arugula and trout salad. So she reads, she's a soon-to-be mom, and she's a bit of a foodie. But it was her preference for "Rick Owens knits" and "Avantindietro Boots" that made me roll my eyes. Is this feature perpetuating the idea that artists, once they become successful, roll over to the dark side?? Micki Thomas is an artist I admire and, in fact, often refer to when talking about successful career paths in the contemporary art world. It saddens me to think that instead of reminiscing about her early days at the Studio Museum, this type of article makes me jealous of her shoes ("$1,700, at select retail outlets.")
For those of you who watch Girls out there, I have two words for you: Booth Jonathan.
