I'm guessing that's a Carsten Höller slide. And if it's not, it still does the trick of making visitors (even those in-the-art-know) wonder to themselves "is that a Carsten Höller slide?", which is, in my book, victory enough.
Happy Weekend, dear readers. For those of you in Washington D.C., be sure to check out the (e)merge fair! S&M will be there all weekend presenting work by Conor Backman. SHOUT OUT to the Washington City Paper for their nice write-up of Conor's work there.
SHOUTING OUT to the Brooklyn Museum for their tweet about the upcoming Brooklyn Ball, and Kimberley Hart's table scape. Here's a link to the Brooklyn Museum flickr describing Kimberley's project for the Brooklyn Ball!
The Pit is shouting out to Active Space for their commitment to artists: studio spaces, exhibitions, and all things Bushwick. Be sure to check out their upcoming exhibition, "Sleeping Without Dreaming," new work by Criminy Johnson (a/k/a QRST) opening February 24th (7-10pm)

Hey interwebs, today we're SHOUTING OUT to our readers. This is a reminder that if you mention The Pit, or mention to us that you read the blog, we'll return the favor by SHOUTING OUT to you.
SHOUT OUT to Rachel Hegburg! Thanks for reading the blog. Glad you liked the post about Damien Hirst's Spot Challenge.
SHOUT OUT to Mark Mulroney for being an avid reader of The Pit. And, per your request, I'll try to include more shark news in these cold, winter months. There's nothing better than shark news to lift one's spirit out of the winter doldrums.

I had an uptown Friday last week. This included some Met and some Guggy time.
Highlights of the afternoon included the Maurizio Cattelan exhibition, and the recently opened Islamic art wing at the Met. Above and below are some great shots of Cattelan's All. SHOUT OUT toSonya Blesofsky since I bumped into her there!
